Utilizing Acne Skin Care So It Works

Posted by Admin On October - 13 - 2008

Acne skin care is important for those suffering from this malady. Especially when you take into account the psychological harm that acne causes. Even with that situation it doesn’t mean it’s something that cannot be tackled. Having acne skin issues affects people around the world so to find a cure with scientific research is fierce; the result of this effort is new, more effective, treatments are becoming available. Acne skin care products all fall into one of three main categories:

Drugstore or Internet: Acne preventing treatments

Over-the-counter: Treatment

Prescription: Doctor and/or Dermatologist, prescribes an ointment or specialist cream

The class of skin care products designed to fight acne and also used as a preventative measure include make-up removers, cleansers and other like-minded products. These products are used everyday by a lot of people whether they suffer from acne or not.

More specialized cleaners are designed in the same way as acne skin care products; they clean out the pores to help stop sebum or oil which clogs up the pores. They are effective in reducing the amount of oil that stays in the pores assisting harmful bacteria growth which can ultimately lead to acne skin conditions.

General skin care treatments can also involve products that perform special exfoliation like skin peels. This involves getting rid of atmospheric pollutants and dead skin cells from the pores which reduce the chance of any bacterial growth.

You can also find acne skin care products that are specialized and available over-the-counter, they do not require the need of a prescription. Skin care products have been formulated to minimize or reduce the excess oil in the skin that certain bacteria live on and results in acne skin conditions. The active ingredient in these products are salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide which treat the existing bacterium.

Studies would indicate that to get the maximum benefit from this type of product you should make sure the benzoyl peroxide content is 5 1/2 percent for starters, just to see how the skin takes it. If that causes an adverse reaction then there are similar acting products that contain Alpha Hydroxy acid. You should expect to try more then one type of product if you take into account the fact that we all have different skin types. If you can’t seem to find something that works then don’t hesitate to see your skin care specialist or doctor.

In the case where you need to consult your skin care specialist or doctor they may prescribe a special ointment or antibiotics. In some case your doctor may suggest the pustules are drained of harmful contents under local anesthetic, this is a minor procedure which if carried out by yourself could result in skin damage.

Summary

Hormone treatment might be suggested as hormone changes can lead to acne. In a large number of cases this type of skin care treatment has been effective. The rewards of scientific research is bearing fruit and even though the condition is not yet curable, it is becoming easier to deal with.

Acne Cure

Acne Cure

Reasons Behind This Apparent Futility

Very simple. These over-the-counter medications are more attuned to relieving the symptoms associated with acne than eliminating the factors that are responsible for it.

And that’s precisely why conventional acne cures, acne drugs, acne creams & topical applications, acne diets and even hormonal supplements & herbal acne treatments can never cure acne even if someone goes on using the product for ever.

The prime predicament that confronts the acne sufferers is their total indifference towards delving deeper into the cause of their suffering and finding out the real culprit. Since acne is not merely a skin problem, multi-dimensional issues, some external, some external are intensely involved in it. But unfortunately, these causative factors are despondently overlooked, pain and discomfort taking the hot seat. And the results are as expected. All the so called well advertised All-natural cures that include Chinese herbal acne treatments, exclusive hormonal supplements for acne and many others prove total failures in curing the disease whose manifestation takes the form of acne.

Holistic Acne Cures is the only right path towards life-long acne freedom

Treating acne in the Holistic way that does not address the symptoms but combats the disease condition internally is the only path that leads to lifelong acne freedom. While other OTC medications can be effective in reducing the swelling or controlling the redness in the skin, Holistic method of treatment cleans the internal system, bringing it back to health whereby all the external symptoms automatically disappear. Don’t Fall For These Top 5 Acne Myths

Posted by Admin On October - 6 - 2008

Myth #1 — Oily skin doesn’t need a moisturizer - Wrong!

Moisturizer is thing that all skin should contain and it is must even if it is oily skin. Mainly your body produces oil to keep your skin supple and healthy. If you have very oily skin then the pores in your skin producing the oil are probably working extra time. There are lots of reasons to happen this.

Without using the moisturizer you should not wash your face regularly and constantly stripping your face of its natural oil, this may cause lots of problems to your skin.

Myth #2 — You need prescription medications to control acne - Wrong!

If you are scared of going to the doctor then you need not get worried because there are many other solutions for acne so that you need not go to doctor’s office. There are drugs stores that offer a huge variety of simple results ranging from masks to scrubs to astringents.

Even there are many homemade remedies and holistic products which you can use to treat acne. All you need to do is keep you skin clean and healthy by using these medicines.

Myth #3 - Acne treatments aren’t cheap — Wrong!

Some of the best acne treatments are actually free! Using a wet hot towel to open your pores before you wash your face can help tremendously. You can also wash your face right after a shower to get the same results. The hot water helps open up your pores which makes it a lot easier to get rid of oil and dirt. Also you don’t necessarily need an expensive soap and moisturizer to treat acne either. The cheaper stuff can work just as well as the expensive stuff. I have found that the two products I like best cost only $11 - for BOTH of them.

Myth #4 - Acne is only a problem for teens, not adults — Wrong!

Generally the acne problem occurs to adults and teenagers. It is usually because of the teenagers are usually attributed to hormonal changes and for the adults this problem occurs mainly due to the chemicals and diet, not just the hormones. Just keep in mind that there are lots of ways to treat acne which really work, so don’t give up your hopes!

Myth #5 - Tanning will get rid of your acne — Wrong!

During tanning it does change the color and texture of your skin; it does NOT get rid of acne. Untanned skin is much lighter than the Tan skin, making the acne a lot harder to see. By spending or tanning too much time in the sun will also help you to dry out your skin and even it helps to dry out your acne - but thing is it won’t get rid of it! And this is some what not the good treatment for acne this may also damage your skin.

What Is Acne and Who Gets It?

Posted by Admin On October - 6 - 2008

Acne is a common skin disease that results when pores get blocked and bacteria form inside them. It comes in a variety of familiar forms and affects nearly everyone at some stage, particularly in their teen years. The inflamed, red bumps that sometimes form can be painful, and even painless white pimples are unsightly.

In the surface of the skin are pores. Deeper inside the pore there are glands that produce sebum, a natural type of oil. This oil helps keep the skin flexible and protected. When the pores close, the natural secretion process is interrupted and that’s when bacteria forms inside them, resulting in acne.

Sometimes white pimples form, this is a combination of bacteria, white blood cells and dead skin cells. The area around it becomes red and inflamed; this is caused by pus trapped inside. Pustule, more commonly referred to as pus, a type of acne, happens when the follicle wall bursts and as part of the healing process white blood cells rush in.

Naturally, while it’s helpful to know what acne is, the most important thing is to be able to treat it. To help, we next look at who gets acne

Acne - Who Gets Acne? The short answer to this is: nearly everyone at some stage of life.

Acne typically develops in teens, girls around age 11 and 13 in boys, reflecting the average age at which puberty starts.

Because males produce more androgen hormones, they tend to develop a more severe acne.

Women have a greater chance of getting acne than men, as a young or mature adult.

One quarter of people have acne on other parts of the body besides the face - most commonly the back and neck areas.

Through studies it has been proven that the occurrence of acne has been affected by the monthly hormonal cycle of women. Of women aged 20-32 the occurrence of premenstrual related acne affected almost 44% of women. Further studies have also shown that the effect of the menstrual cycle on acne is much higher in women aged 33 and older.

The point is acne can occur at any age. Acne can appear in those over 50 and even later in life. Often it is related to taking certain drugs. It is not just a teen’s disease and it can have many causes.
