1. CHANGE YOUR POOR EATING HABITS, eating more than required cause laziness and one tends to feel inactive and tired, thus indulging into Porn, just to releive his or her mental fatigue. So, cut down your food intake.

2. AVOID ALL ELECTRONIC GOODS WHEN AT BED, all mobile phones, laptops, i pads etc. should not accompany you to your bed.

3. LISTEN TO MOTIVATING SONGS, music is the finest doctor when it comes to addiction. So listen to any motivational song when free and alone.

4. DO NOT STAY ALONE, try and stay with your family members, friends etc. Even at night sleep with some elder or at least share a room with someone.

5. PISS AND FLUSH, yaeh! pissing whenever you sense an erection or an urge to see porn really proves helpful. So, just piss and flush your urge.

6. AVOID TALKING TO YOUR GIRL/BOY WHEN AT HOME, talk to your girlfriend/boyfriend when your are on a walk or are outdoors for any other reason.

Cholesterol-lowering drugs may help cut stroke recurrence risk

On May 26, 2009, in Health, by Ashley

Washington: Taking cholesterol-lowering drugs called statins after a stroke could help reduce the risk of having another stroke later, says a new study.

The research has been published in the May 26, 2009, print issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

Those who take statins after a stroke may also be less likely to die within the next 10 years than those who do not take statins, the study said.

“Considering the large burden that stroke carries around the world, these potential benefits of statins are significant,” said study author Sotirios Giannopoulos, MD, DSc, of the University of Ioannina School of Medicine in Greece.

“Also, second strokes tend to result in more disability and longer time spent in hospitals than first strokes, so anything that can prevent these recurrent strokes is beneficial,” the researcher added.

The study consisted of 794 people who had strokes and had health information available for 10 years after the stroke.

Researchers looked back at the records to see what factors affected the risk for having a second stroke or dying within 10 years after the stroke.

During that time, 112 people had a second stroke and 224 people died. Those who took statins were 35 percent less likely to have a second stroke and 57 percent less likely to die within 10 years than those who did not take statins.

About eight percent of those on statins had a second stroke, compared to 16 percent of those not taking statins. Researchers analyzed other risk factors for stroke, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, and heart problems, but found that statin use was the only factor tied to a reduced risk of recurrent stroke and death.

“It”s possible that effects from the drugs that are separate from their cholesterol-lowering effects are responsible for this result,” Giannopoulos said.

“Statins have anti-inflammatory and antioxidative effects and also prevent blood clotting and stabilize plaque in the arteries, so one of these mechanisms may help to prevent recurrent stroke,” the expert added. (ANI)

Prostate Cancer And The Ways In Which It Spreads

On April 18, 2009, in Health, by Ashley

Prostate Gland in Humans
Prostate gland is present in males only. It is a part of the male reproductory system, as it contributes its secretion to the
semen containing male sperms. The gland has a conical shape and contain anterior, posterial, two lateral and a median lobe.

Problems Which  Come Up With The Prostate Gland:

Prostatitis: In this problem, the bacterial infection leads to inflammation of the gland.

Benign enlargement of the prostate: This problem mostly occurs with the people who are there in their 50s or 60s. It is a
tumor of the prostate and does not lead to cancer.

Cancer of the prostate: This is the most deadly disease associated with prostate. This cancer has a direst relation with the
male sex hormones ( androgens), in case the secretion of the androgen increases, the rate of growth of this cancer also
increases simultaneously. At times the testes is removed from the body in order to finish the secretion of the sex hormone,
this in a leads to significant decrease in the size of the tumour.

Here are several very important points regarding the growth and spread of prostate cancer:

  • Mainly the cancer is found in the posterior lobe of the prostate. Other lobes show non cancerous diseases.
  • The growth rate of the prostate cancer is very high as the urethra gets compressed due to the tumour. This compression causes
a lot of difficulty in urination.
  • The gland faces several changes in its structure. It acquires an irregular surface and becomes very hard. It loses the normal
    lobulation.

How does the prostate cancer spread to other parts :

Local spread:

The cancer cells travel up to the lateral lobes and seminal vesicles from the posterior lobe. The neck and base of the

urinary bladder also get affected by the tumour cells.

Spread through the blood:

The periprostatic venous plexus facilitate the spread of the cancer cells and help cells to reach the vertebral veins and

finally the cells enter the vertebral bodies of the lumbar vertebrae.

Lymphatic spread:

Through the lymph vessels cancer cells reach the internal and external illiac group of lymph nodes. From there cells move to

retroperitoneal (Behind the peritoneum) and mediastinal lymph nodes (in the chest)
